Silent Inhabitants of the Forest: The Fungi Kingdom in Chiloé
In Chiloé’s temperate rainforest, the landscape is not merely observed: it is heard, smelled, and explored at a unhurried pace.
Chiloé always surprises us with its magical landscapes full of native forests, and incredible flora and fauna wherever one looks.
This is why we, at Refugia Chiloé, are dedicated, along with our guides, to planning excursions such as the one to Tepuhueico, that best highlight the charms of the south for our guests.
With this intention, we’ve created an expedition to Tepuhueico park, a 20,000-hectare native forest located south of Castro, which reveals its magic: from centennial trees more than 30 meters high to wild animals such as the chilote fox or the pudú, the smallest deer in the world.
We invite you to disconnect from the world and plug yourself into nature, as you will be surrounded by it. Trees, plants, animal species, the forest ecosystem and much more await your discovery.
