Essential information for reading prior to your stay.

  • How many guests can stay in each room?

    Rilán Room: 2 guests in King or twin beds.
    Pullao Room: 3 guests in King or twin beds plus one roll away bed.
    Suite: 4 guests, with 2 in King or twin beds, plus 2 guests on sofa bed and rollaway bed.

  • What are the check-in and check-out times for Refugia Chiloé?

    Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is at 11am. Early check-in and late check-out are offered where possible, though they can’t be guaranteed.

  • What's included in the Refugia Chiloé Full Experience rate?

    For the season beginning October 2 2026 and ending May 2, 2027: Rates are  per person, per night. Families with children are welcomed. A Full Experience stay at the lodge is generously all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch and gourmet dinner; open bar (includes mineral water, soft drinks, juices); two half day excursions or one full day excursion daily, in small groups with other guests; use of spa facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, steam rooms and jacuzzi (massages, therapies and spa treatments are available for an additional cost) and scheduled airport transfers.

    Not included: Specially arranged excursions and transfers, premium wine & spirits, telephone, laundry, store expenses, tips and other items

  • Can extra people be accommodated in the rooms?

    Yes. An extra person rate applies for a rollaway bed in the Pullao Room (maximum one extra guest) or the Suite (maximum two extra guests if children, one if an adult).

  • Are airport transfers to/from Refugia Chiloé included?

    For guests choosing our Full Experience Program, Refugia Chiloé offers complimentary 40-minute road transfers from Castro Mocopulli (MHC) Airport to the hotel. Transfers are also available from the Puerto Montt Tepual (PMC) Airport. Transfer time is approximately  4.5-hour by van and includes a 45-minute ferry passage. No minimum stay required.

  • Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

    As Refugia Chiloé is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. In order to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation, we must be informed in advance so that we can have the supplies on hand.

  • What is the payment policy for Refugia Chiloé?

    A 30% deposit is required within 7 days of booking. The balance is required to be paid in full 30 days prior to arrival. All international payments are processed via Paypal, allowing use of most major credit cards. Settlement is also accepted by international bank transfer; please advise Refugia Chiloé once paid to ensure receipt.

  • What is Refugia Chiloe’s cancellation policy?

    As Refugia Chiloé is situated in a remote destination, we have a strict cancellation policy. We strongly recommend guests have a travel insurance policy covering medical care and cancellation due to any reason.  Cancellations within 60 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 30% of the booking total. Cancellations within 30 days prior to arrival will incur a fee of 100% of the booking total.

  • Are children welcome at Refugia Chiloé?

    Yes, children of all ages are welcome, and child-friendly excursions are available. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at check-in.

  • Is there a special Group policy at Refugia Chiloé?

    At Refugia Chiloé a group is defined as ten people or the use of four or more guest rooms travelling together. Special conditions apply to group bookings. Please enquire for more information.  Refugia Chiloe is happy to arrange company meetings, family meetings, weddings, takeovers and any other kind of special event
